What I’ve read about the debt ceiling in the last 24 hours:
WSJ loves the deal (note even they use language that acknowledges it as a hostage situation.)
Paul Krugman really really hates the deal
Mother Jones also doesn’t like the deal
The deal shows how the whole system is screwed
The deal shows how Obama has moved to the right
The deal really really shows how Obama has moved to the right
That’s not true, Obama just had no choice here
My conclusion:

Which take do you agree with? What else should I be reading?

Do what I do. Read none of it. It’s like pro wrestling, they put on a big show of hating each other for the fans, then go out and eat together once the cameras are gone.

Jay I don’t like the deal. Been reading much the same stuff that you have, but I can not recommend to you another significantly different perspective than what you have here. I trust Krugmann most, WSJ least - history matters when looking at sources.
