We should all turn off our televisions and close our laptops and go outside and move our limbs and play with each other and laugh and smooch and wrestle, because we are all going to be dead in what will seem like 45 minutes and we are going to stay that way until the end of an infinite number of forevers.

That’s a nice sentiment, but if you want to help everyone be happy and get along maybe you shouldn’t have linked to an article that is itself full of bile and derision and needless antagonism. I mean, did you actually read that thing before you posted it? Because, yuck.
Oh shit! So I’m reading Jay Smooth’s back posts because why not? Also it’s been a long day and I come upon this. I love Jay. That Dave Holmes Girls thing was so annoying. Wasn’t it? Remember how annoyed we all (me) were when he posted this mess?
Anyway, it retroactively makes me so happy that Jay called him out on that shit.
Has Dave Holmes ever gone back and explained/rethought this? I still wince whenever his name comes up in my feed since then, which makes me sad because I’d always liked him. That Vice piece he cosigned was so poorly reasoned and soo hateful, neither of which ever seemed like his steelo.
