Ha, I know many people feel this way and I understand to some extent,  but I’ve always been a fan of the “like” button. I mean, not so  much its current incarnation as ubiquitous SEO detritus, but in social  spaces like Facebook and here I think it’s great.. it gives us another  path toward the basic human connection of acknowledging/affirming each  other, without the social anxiety that—even in the smallest  interactions—can come with searching for just the right words. IMO this  is often what draws people* to the button, though I know it’s often  read as “not caring enough to type something.”
